Elsonore House is situated right in the middle of Fahan and Lisfannon beach.
There is direct access from the road to the old railway line (discontinued in 1953) which leads to the beach, Fahan Marina and a the highly acclaimed restaurant and pub, The Firebox Grill, known locally as “The Tavern”. This amazing venue is host to live music, world class food, using local produce, and super friendly neighbours. Award winning Restaurant St John (Red Door) is a short waddle away.
The super-fun seaside town of Buncranna is a mere cycle ride past the beach and golf course.
The Perfect Surrounding
Elsonore House is an ideal base to explore the Inishowen and Fanad peninsulas as well as the historic walled city of Derry being only a 10 minute drive away.
The house circa 1890 is approx 130 years old, and the current owners, Peter and Ruth have spent lockdown attempting to restore the house to its former glory maintaining its original character and features.

This is the larger of the two apartments, and has breathtaking views overlooking Fahan Marina, Loch Swilly and across to Rathmullen andInch island.

Apartment 2, Beach Reach
This Bijou 1 bed apartment, with kitchenette ticks all the boxes for a romantic break, or a peaceful, bird watching rest. It has been lovingly restored from the old scullery of Elsonore, an 1880’s Merchants House situated right on the beach and alongside the old Derry Buncranna railway line. Local attractions include, Griannan of Aliach, Buncranna, Rathmullen Ferry, and the fun towns of Derry and Buncranna. We are moments walk from the excellent Railway Tavern, and The Red Door Restaurant.
The space
Please note that this is a self catering apartment, and I do not provide breakfast. This apartment is at the side of the house, the sea view is from the front door only.
Guest access
Our house is 150 years old and built before cars. The parking space for this apartment has a tight turn and is not suitable for 4×4’s or very large cars. There is however, free 24 hour parking in the empty side street which is less than 1 minute away should you have a large vehicle.
